Publisher Square Enix and developer Historia have released a teaser trailer titled “FINAL” for the remake of the Turn-based RPG game LIVE A LIVE HD-2D.

A classic RPG reborn in HD-2D for a worldwide premiere.

This age-old RPG directed by Takashi Tokita, best known for Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV, has been revived with stunning HD-2D visuals and is being released for the first time outside of Japan. . Each story features rearranged versions of the original soundtrack written by the Kingdom Hearts series and Final Fantasy XV composer, Yoko Shimomura.


Control different heroes throughout the ages

Uncover a series of interwoven stories spanning across time — and the truth behind their shared history.

You can explore any of these 7 stories right from the start. Which will you choose first?

  • The Sundown Kid – The Wild West. Stand up against the outlaws and protect a border town.
  • Oboromaru - Twilight of Edo Japan. Join or evade your enemies to go on a secret mission.
  • Masaru Takahara – Present Day. Master new skills to become the greatest warrior in the world.
  • Akira – The Near Future. Unravel a dark conspiracy with your psychic powers.
  • Cube – The Distant Future. Discover the truth of a tragedy on a ship in deep space.

Use different abilities in battle and exploration

Craft weapons and armor for survival like Pogo, hide from enemies with the shinobi technique Oboromaru, and use your psychic powers to read minds and defeat enemies as Akira.

Each character has a unique set of abilities and mechanics that change their gameplay. Use this character's signature abilities to excel in combat and progress through each chapter.
