NIS America has released a new trailer for Langrisser I & II introducing a story about Langrisser II.

Below is a summary of the Langrisser II story from the Game's official website:

It has been centuries since the War of the Sacred Sword devastated El Sallia. Now, violence is constantly tormenting the whole continent. Isolated battles were fought across the land, devastating towns and nations, before moving on to the next phase. The Baldea Kingdom is not just a legend, and Langrisser is no different from a fairy tale.

A young astronaut named Elwin traveled the land with Hein, an amateur magician he met on his travels. One day during their travels, they decided to stay the night at an inn in his hometown of Hein, a small village called Salrath. At midnight, Hein entered Elwin's room to announce that Empire Rayguard forces were being seen on the outskirts of Salrath. They are looking for Liana, a young girl who lives there.

What was the purpose of the Empire with a peaceful village like Salrath and a defenseless girl? Not caring about what was about to happen to her, Elwin left the countryside and rescued Liana.

Here's an overview of the remake version, via NIS America:
