Publisher Arc System Works and developer APlus Games announced that the Nintendo Switch version of River City Saga: Three Kingdoms will launch via the Nintendo eShop on December 16, 2021 in Japan for 3,740 yen.
As previously announced, the PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) versions of River City Saga: Three Kingdoms will launch sometime during or after April 2022.
Arc System Works also shared information about the game's bonus mode, "Record of Three Kingdoms Heroes: Red Cliffs Chapter." This 4-player cooperative mode is a traditional action game with simple controls and exhilarating battles. The player must defeat the enemies that appear in each level, followed by a boss battle.
Allied attacks can also be turned on or off, which is recommended for players who want to enjoy this mode with friends. There are also leaderboards, hidden levels, exclusive playable characters, CRT TV-style screens, and more. In total, there are 10 levels and 12 playable characters. At launch, multiplayer was only supported through the use of a single Joy-Con.
