The Pokemon Company introduced Pokemon Home, providing an overview of the Pokemon cloud service application expected to launch for Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android devices in February 2020.

Details are as follows:

Introduce

Pokemon Home is a cloud service for Nintendo Switch and compatible mobile devices designed as a place where all Pokemon can gather. By linking the same Nintendo Account to both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions of Pokemon Home, you'll be able to access the same Pokemon Boxes on both versions!

With Pokemon Home, you can move Pokémon between compatible games, trade Pokemon on the move and many other utilities.



Move

Move Pokemon to Pokemon Home

The Pokemon Home version of Nintendo Switch supports connecting to Pokemon games on the Nintendo Switch including Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Shield, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu !, and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Both the Nintendo Switch version and the mobile device version of Pokemon Home support connection with the Nintendo 3DS software Pokemon Bank. In the future, will support Pokemon GO.

* When Pokemon are moved from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! Or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! into Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield, that Pokemon cannot be transferred back to Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee !. However, you can move Pokemon from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! Go to Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! (or vice versa).


Connect with Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield


Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield can be linked to the Pokemon Home version of Nintendo Switch. Once the games are linked, you can send or retrieve Pokemon using them.


Connect with Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!


Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Can be linked to the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Home. You can move Pokemon back and forth between Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! or go to Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

When Pokemon are moved from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! Or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! into a Pokemon Sword or a Pokemon Shield, that Pokemon cannot be transferred back.


Connect with Pokemon Bank


If you have subscribed to the Premium (paid) package, you will be able to transfer Pokemon from Pokemon games on Nintendo 3DS to Pokemon Home with Pokemon Bank.

When a Pokemon from Pokemon Bank is transferred to Pokemon Home, it cannot be transferred back to Pokemon Bank.

To commemorate the release of Pokemon Home, The Pokemon Company will provide Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter for free for a period of one month after Pokemon Home was released. You can bring Pokemon from many different Pokemon games with Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter. Once you have your Pokemon in Pokemon Bank, you will be able to move them to Pokemon Home!


Trade

Trade Pokemon

Use your mobile device to trade Pokemon anytime, anywhere! There are 4 ways to trade Pokemon with Pokemon Home on your mobile device.


Wonder Box

Pokemon placed in the Wonder Box can be traded to people around the world even if you don't use Pokemon Home.

You can increase the number of Pokemon you can trade at the same time by signing up for a Premium Plan (paid).







GTS

With GTS, you will be able to specify which Pokemon you want to trade and which Pokemon you want to receive and then match a Trainer with requirements that meet your criteria. You can even request a Pokémon you haven't registered in Pokemon Home at National Pokédex!

You can increase the number of Pokemon you can trade at the same time by signing up for a Premium Plan (paid).





Room Trade

Room Trade allows you to create rooms and trade Pokemon among participants. Each room can accommodate up to 20 people. To add a bit of suspense, you won't know which Pokemon you'll get until the trade is complete.

There is no charge for Trade in Room Trade, but you can only create a room when signing up for a Premium Plan (paid).





Friend Trade

Friend Trade allows you to trade your Pokemon with other users you've made friends in Pokemon Home. You can add friends with the Add Friend feature in Pokemon Home.

Features related to adding and managing friends in Pokemon Home cannot be used by users under the age of 16.






More Features

Pokemon Home has all the features you can use to connect with the Pokémon series games.

National Pokedex

Pokemon will be registered to National Pokedex when you send them to Boxes in Pokemon Home. If you move a Pokemon that may be Mega Evolve or Gigantamax, these forms will also be registered! In National Pokedex, you will be able to see Pokedex items from many different games in one place.





With the mobile app version of Pokemon Home, you will be able to see more things like Pokedex indexes. You can also check each Pokemon Abilities as well as the moves that Pokemon can learn!





Mystery Gifts

You can get Mystery Gifts in the mobile device version of Pokemon Home! With this feature, you can receive Mystery Gifts for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield as well as gifts for Pokemon Home only. Pokemon received in Pokemon Home can be sent directly to the Box in Pokemon Home.

Note: You must be at least 16 years old to use the Local Event Check option for Mystery Gifts.

Depending on your device and OS version, some features may not be supported.




You can also get some gifts, such as items for Pokemon, by getting a code in the Mystery Gift in Pokemon Home and then using that code in Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield.





Judge Pokemon

If you have signed up for the Premium Plan, you will have access to the Judge function, which allows you to check how strong your Pokemon is.






Your Room

In Your Room, you will be able to see all information about events or games that you have connected to Pokemon Home. You can also edit your profile with stickers. You can get stickers when you meet certain conditions or perform certain tasks in Pokemon Home called Challenges.





Battle Data

In the mobile app version of Pokemon Home, you can check the various Ranked Battles and Online Competitions in the ongoing Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, as well as the rank of the Pokemon used. By accessing the Battle Data, you will be able to view the battle profiles of each Trainer as well as information about common moves between Pokemon in competitions.

Note: The Battle Data function is expected to be available after a February 2020 launch of Pokemon Home.


News

In Pokemon Home for mobile devices, you can receive news about Pokemon being distributed as gifts and information on Online Competitions for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.


Pokemon Home Points

Pokemon Home Points are accumulated points in Pokemon Home when you send more Pokemon. When using the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Home, you will be able to exchange your Pokemon Home points for BP (Battle Points) to be used in Pokemon games.
