Introduce
Mega Man X2, known as Rockman X2 in Japan, and often shortened to MMX2, or just X2, is the second game in the Mega Man X series and was released for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo in 1994.
Mega Man X2 takes place in the near future, in which humans attempt to live peacefully with intelligent cyborgs known as "Reploids", with some Reploids going "Maverick" and threatening everyday life. The plot follows the android protagonist X, a "Maverick Hunter" who saved humanity from the evil Sigma six months earlier. A trio of Mavericks calling themselves "X Hunters" arose, intending to destroy X by luring him with the detachment of his comrade Zero, who died in a conflict with the winged robot. Sigma's right hand is named Vile.
