Square Enix has announced new information and images for Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline introducing Guest Characters, an Original Episode dedicated to the Offline version of Dragon Quest X, and the "Spell of Restoration" system.
Details are as follows:
Guest Characters will assist you on your adventure
You'll meet all sorts of characters at the places you visit, and sometimes help them out as you progress on your adventure. Some characters will accompany you as Guest Characters to solve their troubles or problems together.
More than 10 Guest Characters will appear in Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline. Each will aid the protagonist's adventure in different ways.
- The Guest Characters will join the party until they reach their destination.
- Many Guest Characters will even join the battle. Each character attacks, supports, etc. in their own way.
Original Episode exclusively for Dragon Quest X Offline
Dragon Quest X Offline will have an Original Episode not described in the story of Dragon Quest X Online, including a new character. Original Episode is set in the Ogreed continent in the past. Joined by a younger Himea and new character Garmy as guests, the protagonist and Elge go on an adventure in the world of the past.
- Kid Himea and new character Garmy will join the battle as guests.
- A conversation scene between Elge and Himea will give you a deeper understanding of their innermost thoughts.
The characters you will meet in Ogreed of the Past
- Elge, the Young Successor of the “Purification Shipwright”
The son of "Purification Shipwright" steers ships towards the land of the Dark Lord. Although he is only 10 years old, the boy is still determined to start his journey as the successor of the “Art of the Purification Ship”.
- Himea, the Young Daughter of the Elven Leader
Only daughter of Yakul, leader of the Elves 500 years ago. She is interested in a future where children lead and come together, and decides to join Elge in his journey.
- Garmy, the Ogre Girl Who Hates Humans
A new character first appeared in Dragon Quest X Offline. Daughter of Gamilgo, leader of Ogres 500 years ago. She completely believes in her father's strict teachings and hates humans.

Starting at Level 70 in Dragon Quest X Online with "Spell of Restoration"
When you complete the story of Dragon Quest X Offline, you will unlock a special "Spell of Restoration" skill at the church. By using this Spell of Restoration you can start Dragon Quest X Online. Whenever you choose to make an appearance call in Dragon Quest X Offline, you will start the story with all of your levels at 70.

- After completing the game you will receive the Spell of Restoration at the church, so note it down with pictures etc.
Dragon Quest X Online
- After completing the necessary procedures for each platform in advance, enter the Spell of Restoration in Dragon Quest X Online.
- Select the version you want to start the game on. You can skip Version 1 and start the story from Version 2 and up if you like.
- You will start with all levels at 70 for suitable vocations. If you've played Dragon Quest X Online, you can start a new side character from level 70.
