Dragonest will release an Auto Chess version for Sony PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2020.
The news came through a fan-meeting event in Tokyo, in which Dragonest CEO Lest Lee discussed future development plans with Japanese fans, including the release. console versions. Lee hopes that the large console market in Japan will help attract new players.
Auto Chess is an online multiplayer strategy game developed in China, originally called Dota 2 Mod, before being developed into an independent game for iOS and Android. A PC version is currently in beta and will be available through the Epic Games Store in 2019.
The next update for the mobile version will be released in October, which will add more popular features, as well as add Japanese voiceover after the Chinese and English versions were previously released.
Features that will be included in future updates include:
- Voice chat feature in Duos mode
- Mode 4 vs 4
- Add tournament feature (where groups like 64 or 32 can join and be automatically scored according to their rankings, this feature will be released in late 2019)
- Replay battles (will be available in the next update)
